Every so often someone asks what we travel with, expecting a system. Here is the system: one bag, and the discipline to leave the second one at home.
If it doesn’t earn its weight, it stays.
The list
The Hoodie, worn on the plane because it’s the heaviest thing we own. Two tees, rolled — one script, one clean. The Cap. A notebook that gets stamped like a passport. A charger, a toothbrush, and a field tote folded flat for whatever the bazaar insists on.
That’s it. Not because minimalism is a personality, but because a light bag is the difference between “the train leaves in four minutes” being a problem and being an adventure.
What you don’t pack
Plans, mostly. An itinerary is just a list of places you’ve decided not to discover. Pack a direction instead — the bag stays light and the days stay open.
Day 007. Cleared.
